Alas Pilipinas Women lost both of their games: a straight-set loss to World No. 7 China, 25-18, 25-22, 25-8, and a 1-3 defeat to Kazakhstan (29-27, 24-26, 23-25, 19-25).
Qatar, meanwhile, also went winless in the elimination round, losing all three games in straight sets: to Vietnam (3-25, 8-25, 9-25), Korea (6-25, 6-25, 10-25), and Hong Kong (9-25, 8-25, 12-25).
