Hard-hitting Filipino Reymart "Assassin" Gaballo (27-1, 22KOs) succesfully defended his WBO Oriental bantamweight title against former WBA interim world champion Phai Pharob (35-4, 27KOs) of Thailand in the first round of their 10-round bout at the Midas Hotel and Casino, Pasay City on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

In the opening moments of the fight, Reymart Gaballo, trained by Nonito Donaire Sr., initiated with a swift left jab. Following up, he delivered a powerful left hook to the face and a straight right punch. With just 2 minutes and 47 seconds remaining in the first round, Gaballo landed a precise and punishing liver shot on the veteran Thai boxer. The impact of this well-aimed blow proved decisive as the Thai boxer couldn't recover, ultimately failing to beat the referee's 10-count at 2:38 in the first round.

Gaballo is now in line for a world title opportunity against the WBO World Bantamweight champion Jason Moloney (27-2, 19KOs) of Australia.

Gaballo's most recent bout took place on June 17, 2023, where he successfully defended his title against fellow Filipino Michael Bravo through a split decision. Reymart Gaballo's only defeat occurred in December 2021 when he faced the then reigning champion, "The Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire Jr, in the WBC World Bantamweight Championship fight and suffered a knockout loss in the fourth round of the bout.
