Gilas Pilipinas Men def. India, 101-59 (July 15) FIBA Asia Cup 2022

The Chot Reyes-mentored Gilas Pilipinas (world #34, Asia #6) defeated winless India (world #82, Asia #14), 101-59 to grab their first win in the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup on Friday, July 15 at the Istora Senayan Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia.

William Navarro led the Gilas in scoring with game-high 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting including two 3-pointers along with 1 assists and a block in 17 minutes of play. Thirdy Ravena with a solid game of 17 points (7/8 fg, 1/1 3pts, 2/2 ft) to go with five rebounds, two steals and one assist while Bobby Ray Parks Jr added 12 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds.

Gilas will face New Zealand on July 17, 2022 (Sunday, 9:00PM PHL time).
