The NBA Draft 2022 presented by State Farm will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Thursday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET (Manila time: Friday, June 24 at 7:30am). There are only 58 picks this year instead of the traditional 60. Miami and Chicago both forfeited 2nd round picks due to a violation of league rules governing the timing of free agency discussions.
The Orlando Magic is set to make the first pick in the NBA Draft for the fourth time in franchise history. The Oklahoma City Thunder franchise is set to select second overall in the NBA Draft for the third time in the common draft era. The Thunder has two other picks in the first round (Nos. 12 and 30). This marks the second year in a row that Oklahoma City is set to make three picks in the first round. The Houston Rockets are set to pick third overall in the NBA Draft for the second time in franchise history. This is the second year in a row with multiple first-round picks for the Rockets, who also have the 17th pick in 2022. [via]
6'10" Paolo Banchero (Duke), 7'0" Chet Holmgren (Gonzaga) and 6'10" Jabari Smith Jr. (Auburn) are the consensus top-three picks in the 2022 NBA draft class while 7'3" 
Kai Sotto, seeking to become the first Filipino-born NBA draftee, has already done a number of private workouts. "I'm a skilled seven-footer that can shoot from the outside, I'm a pretty good passer at my height as well and I have a high basketball IQ. Pretty good shot-blocker." Sotto said of his strengths. Kai joined two other NBA prospects with Filipino roots - Fil-Am Ron Harper Jr. (Rutgers University) and Fil-Am Remy Martin (Kansas Jayhawks).
