World No. 34 and Asia’s No. 7 Gilas Pilipinas Men dropped their knockout quarterfinal match in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, falling to back-to-back defending champions and World No. 7 Australia, 84-60, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at King Abdullah Sports City in Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The undefeated Boomers swept their group phase games, defeating Korea 97-61, Lebanon 93-80, and Qatar 110-82 to secure the top seed in Group A and advance straight to the quarterfinals. They have now moved on to the semifinals, where they will face the winner between Iran and Chinese Taipei.
