Quarterfinals-bound Strong Group Athletics - Philippines narrowly escaped the previously unbeaten Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya (4-1), securing a 91-89 victory to complete a perfect 5-game sweep of the preliminary round of the 2024 Dubai International Basketball Championship on Thursday, January 25 at the Al Nasr Club - Basketball Court in Dubai, UAE. Jordan Heading led SGA in a tough win with 19 points, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, to go along with 5 assists. Kevin Quiambao had another solid performance, tallying 17 points (4/7 3pts), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal while Dwight Howard made some clutch baskets and contributed 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Andray Blatche had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists in 23 minutes of play.
