The No.2 seed San Miguel Beermen escaped past the No. 3 seed Barangay Ginebra, 92-90, in Game 1 of their Best-of-5 semifinals series in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. [VIDEO]

CJ Perez led the Beermen with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, along with 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Bennie Boatwright Jr. finished with a double-double of 23 points (10/23FG, 7/12 2pts, 3/11 3pts), twelve rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks while June Mar Fajardo added 18 points (8/10FG, 2/4ft), nine rebounds and two blocks.
