Chinese Taipei went off to a good start and outscored the Elasto Painters, 40-23 in the opening period. 6'11" Taiwanese-American William Artino led the hosts with game-high 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting along with 9 rebounds, 1 assist and a block in 24 minutes of play. Mohammad al Bachir "Abbasi" Gadiaga had a solid output of 22 points (5/10 2pts, 3/6 3pts, 3/3ft), to go with 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks while shooting guard Ting-Chien Lin added 16 points (3/5 3pts), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal.
Rain or Shine ended the game with a 30-16 fourth-quarter run, but it still wasn't enough. Andrei Caracut paced the Epainters in the losing effort with 18 points (6/10 2pts, 2/3 3pts), 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Naturalized Filipino Ange Kouame had a double-double of 15 points, game-high 16 rebounds and 2 blocks in 23 minutes while import Nick Evans added 14 points (6/13 2pts, 0/4 3pts, 2/2ft), 12 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.
