World #40 Gilas Pilipinas fell short of completing a comeback against the world #44 Estonia men's national basketball team on Tuesday, June 27, in a tune-up game at the Kalevi Sports Hall in Tallinn, Estonia.
Four Estonian players finished in double figures, with Carlos Jürgens leading the way with a game-high 20 points (5/12 fg, 2/4 3pts, 8/10 ft), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Captain Mikk Jurkatamm added 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.
Dwight Ramos led Gilas with 16 points on 5-of-15 shooting, along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block in 26 minutes of play. Meanwhile, Thirdy Ravena finished with 9 points (2/3 fg), and Justin Brownlee contributed 8 points (3/6 fg) along with 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Gilas shot 20/50 from the field, including 5-of-17 shooting from beyond the arc, while Estonia shot 25/63 from the field and made 11-of-37 threes.
Gilas Pilipinas is currently on a three-week European training camp as it prepares for its upcoming campaign in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
