Gilas Pilipinas Women 5x5 team's three-peat bid suffered a blow with a loss to the undefeated Indonesia team (4-0), with 2 naturalized players, Kim Pierre-Louis and Peyton Alexis Whitted, in the women's basketball 5x5 event in the 2023 SEA Games on Friday, May 12 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Yuni Anggraeni led Indonesia in scoring with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go with 4 rebounds. Kim Pierre-Louis had a huge double-double of 20 points (8/13FG, 1/4 3pts, 3/6ft), along with game-high 15 rebounds, one assist and three blocks while Adelaide Wongsohardjo finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Peyton Alexis Whitted added an all-around performance of 8 points (3/13fg), 5 rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block.

If Indonesia manages to win their remaining two games against Cambodia (1-2) and Singapore (0-4), they will secure the gold medal.

The Patrick Aquino-mentored Gilas Women 12 consists of Jack Danielle Animam, Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos, Clare Castro, Khate Castillo, Camille Clarin, Katrina Guytingco, Ella Fajardo, France Mae Cabinbin, Stefanie Berberabe, Andrea Tongco and Angel Surada.
