San Miguel Beermen uses strong fourth quarter to dethrone coach Chot Reyes-less TNT Tropang GIGA, 119-97 in do-or-die Game 7 of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday, September 4 in front of massive 15,195 crowd at the SMART Araneta Coliseum. The San Miguel Beermen win their 28th PBA championship.

The Beermen pulled off a 17-0 run to start the 4th quarter and outscored TNT, 35-8. Seven Beermen players finished in double figures with CJ Perez leading the way with 25 points (9/11 2pts, 2/6 3pts) to go with 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Best Player of the Conference and Finals MVP June Mar Fajardo with a double-double game of 19 points, game-high 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks. Marcio Lassiter finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3assists and 2 steals while Chris Ross had 12 points (4/7 3pts), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and a block.

Veteran guard Jayson Castro paced the Tropang Giga with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists in 33 minutes of play while Mikey Williams added 22 points (9/18 fg, 3/9 3pts), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and a block. The import-laden PBA Commissioner's Cup 2022-23 is set to open on September 21, 2022 (Wednesday) with Bay Area Dragons as guest team.
