Lebanon U18 national team defeated Gilas Pilipinas Youth U18, 99-83 to advance to the semifinal round of the 2022 FIBA U18 Asian Championships on Wednesday, August 24 at the Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran, Iran.

Lebanon advances to the semis of FIBA Asia U18 and secured an outright spot in the 2023 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Hungary while the Philippines will be relegated to the classification round for 5th-8th place against Chinese Taipei on Friday, August 26.

Bryan Mansour led Lebanon with game-high 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting (6/8 3pts) along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists in 38 minutes of play. Karim Rtail with a solid game of 25 points (4/9 3pts) to go with 6 rebounds, 4 assists and a block while Karl Kozah added 18 points (6/9 3pts) and 4 rebounds. Karl Chris Zamatta finished with a double-double of 10 points, game-high 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block. Lebanon shot 40/84 (47%) from the field including 17-of-30 shooting from downtown and outrebounded the Philippines, 55-45.

Mason Francis Amos paced Gilas with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists while Kyle Gamber added 10 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Gilas shot 29/82 from the field including 9-of-23 shooting behind the arc.
