Gilas Pilipinas Youth U18 (3-0) uses strong fourth quarter to beat the Chinese Taipei national team (2-1), 84-73 to grab their third straight win and sweep their group phase assignment in the 2022 FIBA U18 Asian Championships on Tuesday, August 23 at the Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran, Iran.

Mason Francis Amos led the Gilas Youth with 28 points on 12-of-20 shooting along with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a block in 31 minutes of play. James Phillip Nacua with a solid game of 16 points (5/6fg, 4/5 3pts, 2/2ft) to go with 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. Seven Gagate finished with 9 points and 3 rebounds while Jared Bahay added 8 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and a steal.

The Josh Reyes-mentored Gilas Youth advances to the knockout quarterfinal round against Lebanon and one win away from securing a seat in the 2023 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Hungary.
