The Ateneo Blue Eagles-Pilipinas (2-0) uses strong fourth quarter to beat the National Chengchi University - NCCU Griffins of Taiwan (0-2), 88-78 to grab their second straight win in the 2022 World University Basketball Series on Wednesday, August 10 at the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
Kai Ballungay led the Blue Eagles with 21 points (4/5 3pts) along with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block. Foreign student-athlete Joseph Obasa with a solid double-double performance of 17 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocks while Dave Ildefonso had 14 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.
The Blue Eagles (2-0) will play Tokai University Seagulls of Japan (2-0) on Thursday, August 11 in the virtual gold medal match at 2:00pm.
