San Miguel Beermen (8-3) defeated the Blackwater Bossing (1-10), 125-117 to secure their 8th win and a twice-to-beat bonus in the quarterfinals of the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bennie Boatwright Jr. once again led the Beermen with a double-double of 44 points (8/17 from 3-point range), grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists. CJ Perez finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal while Terrence Romeo added 14 points (2/6 3pts), 2 rebounds, and a game-high 6 assists.

SMB coach Jorge Gallent said during the post-game press conference: "Our first goal was to get into the top four for the twice-to-beat advantage, and we did that. So now we have to work on our quarterfinal stint. As of now we don't know who we'll play but we have to prepare against the team we will play in the quarterfinals,"

"So, this five-game winning streak is out already. This is ladder one, so we're going to ladder two now." added Gallent .
