NorthPort Batang Pier (6-4) defeated Blackwater Bossing (1-9), 106-89, to secure a quarterfinal berth in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
"It feels good, starting the year off with a win," said Joshua Munzon during the post game press conference, who led the Batang Pier with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and 2-of-2 from the freethrow line, to go with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and a block.
"I think that's what the coach said, that we just try and build momentum and finish these two games with wins and that's what we came out to do today." Munzon added.
"Definitely we're on the right track naman. We just need to win 'yung next game namin against Ginebra to be in a good position," said coach Bonnie Tan.
