The top-seeded Magnolia Timplados Hotshots escaped past the the No.4 seed Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 82-79, in Game 1 of their Best-of-5 semifinals series of the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Tyler Bey led the Hotshots with a double-double performance of 23 points (8/23FG, 0/6 3pts, 7/10ft), 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Paul Lee finished with 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting along with 5 rebounds, and 3 assists while Mark Barroca added 10 points, 2 assists, and a game-high 4 steals.
