Barangay Ginebra (5-3) defeated the Meralco Bolts (6-2), 110-96, to secure their fifth win and snap their 2-game skid in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday, December 22, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

All Ginebra starters scored in double digits, with Maverick Ahanmisi leading the way by contributing 25 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Scottie Thompson, recently recovered from a knee injury, had a stellar comeback game with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Christian Standhardinger is 3 assists shy of a triple-double, posting 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Jamie Malonzo had a solid game of 17 points (3/6 3pts), to go with 6 rebounds, and 3 assists while import Tony Bishop Jr. had a double-double of his own with 12 rebounds (5/16FG), a game-high 13 rebounds, 2 asssists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

During the post-game press conference, Coach Tim Cone stated, "Tony (Bishop) doesn't need to score for us to be successful. We have a lot of scorers on our team, and where we lack is helping us out on the boards, helping us out on defense, crashing the offensive boards the way he does. That's really all he needs to do. I mean, if he scores, that's just a bonus for us."

The Scores:

GINEBRA 110 - Ahanmisi 25, Thompson 21, Standhardinger 21, Malonzo 17, Bishop Jr 12, Pringle 7, J Aguilar 7, Tenorio 0.

MERALCO 96 – Lofton 24, Hodge 17, Black 14, Maliksi 10, Quinto 10, Newsome 9, Almazan 6, Pascual 4, Banchero 3, Bates 0, Rios 0, Torres 0.
