University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons defeated the De La Salle Green Archers, 97-67 in Game 1 of their best-of-3 Men's Basketball Finals in the 2023 UAAP Season 86 on Wednesday, November 29 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Harold Alarcon led the Fighting Maroons in scoring with 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 8-of-9 in the freethrow line along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal. Francis Lopez had a double-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and a steals while JD Cagulangan added 11 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 steal.
Finals Game 2 is on Sunday, December 3 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum at 4:00pm.
