San Miguel Beermen (1-1) defeated Meralco Bolts (2-1), 93-83 to secure their first win in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Sunday, November 19, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen managed to avoid another massive collapse after holding their biggest lead of 21 points. The Meralco Bolts kept the game close, trailing 85-81 in the last 2:14 of the match. In the final moments of the game, Chris Ross delivered a clutch performance, scoring 7 crucial points in under 2 minutes to give SMB the win.

Ivan Aska led SMB in scoring with a double-double of 27 points (12/23FG), 13 rebounds, and 2 steals. June Mar Fajardo had his own double-double output of 17 points (4/7FG, 9/17ft), a game-high 15 rebounds, 3 assists and a block. CJ Perez added 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block while Chris Ross finished with 10 points (2/5FG, 4/4ft), along with 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
