Germany stuns Team USA in FIBA World Cup Semis

World no. 11 Germany survives a late run by the world no. 2 Team USA in the knockout semifinal match of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup on Friday, September 8th, at the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines. [VIDEO]

Andreas Obst led Germany with game-high 24 points on 6-of-11 shooting including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc and 8-of-9 from the free throw line along with 6 rebounds, and a steal. Franz Wagner had a solid game of 22 points (7/18fg, 3/10 3pts, 5/6ft) to go with 5 rebounds, 2 asssits, and 1 steal while Daniel Theis added 21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and a block.

Germany (7-0), the only undefeated team left in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, advances to the FIBA World Cup gold medal match against Serbia on Sunday, September 10 at 8:40pm while Team USA has been relegated to the bronze medal game against Canada on the same day at 4:30pm. [LIVE]
