The duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and hot-shooting Andres Feliz led the Dominican Republic to upset the 10th-ranked Italy, 87-82, securing their second consecutive win and earning a spot in the second round of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup on Sunday, August 27th, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Andres Feliz scored 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc to go along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with a double-double game of 24 points (7/15fg, 4/9 3pts, 6/8ft) along with 11 rebounds, and 5 assists while Jean Montero added 12 points, 6 rebounds, game-high 9 assists, 3 steals and a block.
