Gilas Pilipinas Men (2-1) blew past Singapore (0-3), 105-45 in the last day of the preliminary round of the Men's Basketball 5x5 event in the 2023 SEA Games on Saturday, May 13 at the Morodok Techno National Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The Chot Reyes-mentored Gilas advances to the crossover semifinals on May 15 and will face the top team in Group B either Indonesia or Thailand.
Six Gilas players scored in double-digits for the Philippines led by Marcio Lassiter with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc to go with one assist and a steal in 17 minutes of play. CJ Perez had a double-double of 13 points along with 11 rebounds and one assist while Justin Brownlee added 12 points (4/9fg, 0/3 3pts, 4/6ft), 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in 19 minutes.
