Justin Brownlee finished with team-high 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 1-of-2 from the line along with four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 29 minutes of play. Jamie Malonzo had a solid game of 15 points (6/9fg, 3/5 3pts) to go with five rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks.
18-year-old Mason Amos had a solid Gilas Men debut of 13 points on perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the field including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc with two rebounds in 8 minutes of play.
It was an all-around effort from Gilas Pilipinas and tied the most three-point shots made in the Asian Qualifiers with 17 threes. PHL shot 40/73 (54%) from the field, including 17-of-36 shooting from beyond the arc (LEB - 35/69 fg, 14/28 3pts), and Gilas went 10-of-15 from the free throw line (LEB - 12/17 ft). Labanon had 15 turnovers while Gilas had 13. PHL outrebounded LEB, 38-34, and Gilas had more assists, 31-17.
