Donovan Mitchell of the Cavaliers and Dillon Brooks of the Grizzlies got into a physical altercation in the third quarter on Thursday night (Friday morning, PHL time), Brooks appeared to hit Mitchell in the groin, which sparked the scuffle.

Mitchell threw the ball back in retaliation after Brooks appeared to strike him low as he lay on the ground. Following an exchange of shoves, teammates and coaches had to separate the two.

Mitchell received a technical foul from the referees, and Brooks received a flagrant-2. Both players have been ejected. In the end, Cleveland defeated Memphis 128–113. Mitchell was upset with Brooks' actions after the game, and he made no attempt to hide it.

"Quite frankly, I've been busting his *ss for years. Playoffs, regular season. There's no place for that in the game. You gotta protect yourself at the end of the day. But this has been brewing for years.. It's tough when you can't guard somebody and you can't do something to somebody, you gotta resort to that. And that's what he's done to a lot of players." Mitchell told reporters.
