The Josh Reyes-mentored Gilas Pilipinas Youth U16 uses strong second half to beat Iran U16 national team, 95-87 to settle for seventh place finish in the 13-team tournament, 2022 FIBA U16 Asian Championship, on Sunday at the Al Gharafa Sports Club Multi-Purpose Hall in Doha, Qatar.

Alexander Konov led the Gilas Youth in scoring with 18 points including 4-of-9 from downtown along with four assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes of play. Caelum Harris with another solid game of 15 points (6/7 fg, 3/3 ft), to go with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal while the former Palarong Pambansa MVP Lorenzo Bryan Competente added 14 points (4/8 3pt, 2/2 ft), 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block.
