Indonesia (5-0) defeated host Vietnam (3-2), 94-67 to claim their fifth straight victory and one win away from a gold medal in men's 5x5 basketball event at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games on Saturday the Thanh Tri District Gymnasium in Vietnam.

The 19-year-old 6'9" Derrick Michael Xzavierro led Indonesia with a huge double-double performance of 22 points (6/8FG, 3/3 3PT, 7/10FT) along with game-high 15 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and a block in 29 minutes of play. Juan Laurent Kokodiputra finished with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting including two 3-pointers with 3 assists and 2 rebounds while Brandon Jawato with another solid game of 12 points (4/9 FG, 2/6 3PT, 2/2 FT), 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Naturalized Indonesian and former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Marques Bolden scored four points (2/5 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 rebounds and 2 assists) in limited minutes due to a back injury.
