New Zealand (1-0) defeated India (0-1), 101-46 to claim their first win in Group A in the first window of the FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers on Thursday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Tom Vodanovich led the Tall Blacks in scoring with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting including three 3-pointers along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 25 minutes of play. Ethan Rusbatch finished with 18 points (7/16 FG, 3/10 3PT), 5 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal. Rob Loe with a solid double-double performance of 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in 22 minutes.

New Zealand will resume their campaign againts the Philippines on Sunday, February 27 at 7:00pm while India will be back tomorrow, February 25 against the Philippines at 6:00pm.
