Australia def. Chinese Taipei, 98-61 (VIDEO) February 25 | FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers

Australia (1-0) defeated Chinese Taipei (0-1), 98-61 to claim their first win in Group B of the FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers on Friday at the Okinawa Arena in Okinawa, Japan.

Nick Kay led the Boomers in scoring with 14 points (4/7 FG, 5/5 FT) along with 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Alexander Mudronja with a solid game of 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals while Emmett Naar and Kyle Zunic added 12 points and 11 points, respectively.

Newly naturalized Taiwanese 6'11" William Artino paced Chinese Taipei with 14 points (6/16 FG, 0/3 3PTS, 2/8 FT), 8 rebounds and 1 block.
Taipei will play Japan on Saturday, February 26, while Australia will face Japan on February 27 and Taipei again on February 28.
