24-year-old Kobe Paras fired away an impressive 25 points in his professional basketball debut for the Niigata Albirex BB but the Kyoto Hannaryz spoiled Paras huge game with a 85-81 defeat in the 2021-22 Japan B.League season on Saturday, October 2 at the City Hall Plaza Aore Nagaoka.

Paras topscored for Albirex BB with 25 points (20pts in the first half) on 8-of-16 shooting including 4 three-pointers (4/6 3PT) along with 5-of-6 free throws, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 rebound in 33 minutes of play while Niigata's Hungarian import Rosco Allen finished the game with a double-double performance of 19 points (7/15 FG, 2/4 3PT), 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.

Former PBA import David Simon (TNT 2016) led Hannaryz with game-high 28 points (13/22 FG), 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal while another former PBA import Justin Harper (GlobalPort 2017) with a solid game of 21 points (6/11 FG, 2/5 3PT, 7/9 FT) along with 6 rebounds and 1 assist.

“I honestly wanted to play a little harder, It is still the first game, so I want to learn a lot from here. I don’t think I did well as an individual, and there were times when I was shot in the latter half, so I would like to try to play for the team a little more.” - said Kobe Paras in the post-game interview.
