Chris Newsome nailed the game-winning buzzer-beater layup as Meralco Bolts (5-1) defeated Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots (4-1), 95-94 to claim their fifth win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Mac Belo led the Bolts in scoring with 22 points (7/16 FG, 3/10 3PT), 6 rebounds and 1 steal. Cliff Hodge finished the game with a double-double of 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting with 11 rebounds and a steal.

Reynel Hugnatan added 15 points, Chris Newsome with 14 including the clutch three and the game winning layup for the Bolts. Paul Lee scores 21 points (7/14 FG, 5/10 3PT), 3 rebounds, 3 assists in the loss while Calvin Abueva added a double-double of 18 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 1 steal for the Hotshots.
