Meralco Bolts (9-2) uses strong fourth quarter to beat Barangay Ginebra (4-7), 79-66 to claim their 9th win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup and officially secured the second seed and twice-to-beat advantage in the QF and pushes Ginebra to the brink of elimination on Thursday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Mac Belo led the Bolts with 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 7 rebounds and a steal in 35 minutes of play. Rookie Alvin Pasaol with another solid game of 15 points (6/12 FG, 3/6 3PT), 7 rebounds and 2 assists while Chris Newsome added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

The Bolts spoiled Christian Standhardinger's double-double performance of 17 points (8/21 FG, 1/5 FT), 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Meralco shot 33/85 or 38% from the field (Ginebra - 30/74 FG, 5/21 3PT) including a 6-of-24 shooting from downtown and went 7-of-12 from the free throw line and committed 17 turnovers (Ginebra - 15TO) in the contest.
