World #51 Gilas Pilipinas Women (0-3) lost to world #34 Chinese Taipei (1-2), 93-52 in the last day of the preliminary round in the 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup on Wednesday at Prince Hamzah Hall in Amman Jordan.

Wen-Yu Lin led Taipei with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting including 5 three-pointers, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist in 19 minutes of play while I-Hsiu Cheng added 14 points (6/8 FG), 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.

Afril Bernardino paced Gilas Pilipinas Women with a huge double-double of 24 points (8/12 FG, 8/11 FT), 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in 34 minutes minutes of play while center Clare Castro added 14 points (6/11 FG, 2/2 FT), 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.

Gilas committed 26 turnovers in the contest, only shot 18/48 (37%) from the field including 2-of-14 shooting from downtown (TPE - 15/41 3pts) and went 14-of-18 from the free throw line (TPE - 12/16 ft). Chinese Taipei outrebounded the Philippines, 39-37. Chinese Taipei also had more assists (TPE 33 / PHL 10) and steals (TPE 13 / PHL 2).
