Basketball powerhouse and world #3 Australia defeated world #16 Slovenia, 107-93 in the bronze medal match of the Men's Basketball 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Saturday at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
Patty Mills led the Boomers with a huge performance of 42 points (15/31 FG, 4/15 3PT, 8/10 FT), 9 assists, 3 rebounds and 1 steal in 38 minutes of play and guided Australia its first ever men's basketball Olympic medal. Joe Ingles finished with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting including 4 three-pointers with nine rebounds and four assists.
Slovenia's Luka Doncic finished with 22 points (7/20 FG, 3/13 3PT, 5/6 FT), 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the losing effort.
